CALIFORNIA COASTAL
Carlsbad, CA
For this stunning Carlsbad home, Vitti Interiors collaborated with Cairn’s Craft Design & Remodel to elevate the kitchen's aesthetic and functionality. The homeowner's goal was to modernize the kitchen, expand seating to accommodate 10-11 people, and streamline the cooktop hood. To meet these objectives, Vitti Interiors designed a custom banquette that comfortably seats 8-9 people, seamlessly extending from the existing island. Additionally, we reimagined the space by dismantling the old bookshelves to create extra seating, further enhancing the kitchen’s capacity and style. To modernize the kitchen, we employed contrasting cabinet colors for a dynamic visual impact. The island, banquette, and beverage bar feature flat, vertical maple grain cabinet doors, while the perimeter cabinets are adorned with ivory shaker doors. This contrast is further highlighted by the ivory white countertops on the banquette and dining room table, paired with textured charcoal countertops on the perimeter cabinets. A new ceiling-mount range hood was installed, complemented by a custom hood cover finished to match the island's cabinet door color, creating a cohesive look. To enhance the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, we replaced the windows with multi-sliding telescoping doors. This change seamlessly extends the living area to the patio, embracing the quintessential "California outdoor living" lifestyle. At the sink area, we upgraded to a stainless-steel farmhouse sink, relocating the dishwasher to make room for a trash compactor concealed with a matching cabinet door panel. The over-counter microwave was moved to an under-counter position, and an appliance garage was added for extra storage between the refrigerator and double oven. Additional storage was incorporated with cabinets installed beneath the banquette seat.
To finish the kitchen, we chose a textured subway tile backsplash that extends to the ceiling, enhancing the area around the windows. The kitchen floor features herringbone-patterned porcelain tile with a travertine stone look and subtle liner grain, while the rest of the first floor, including the entry, dining room, butler’s pantry, and stairs, is finished with Brazilian Oak engineered hardwood planks. The updated design required repositioning the recessed can lighting and relocating the existing dining room chandelier to the banquette area. A new, complementary fixture was selected for the dining room to complete the lighting scheme. To extend the refreshed aesthetic to the first-floor powder room, we matched the wood grain cabinet style and charcoal countertop from the kitchen. We retained the sink’s original location but replaced the pedestal sink with an under-mount sink. The existing mirror niche was filled and smoothed out, while the vanity wall was covered with full-height textured white hexagon tile and a new, centered mirror was installed.
With all these elements carefully integrated, the envisioned transformation was beautifully realized.
TRANSITIONAL VINTAGE MODERN
Clairmont Mesa, CA
The challenge of this space was that the client wanted to create an open plan layout without losing cabinet space in a kitchen that was fully separated from the living room by a wall. Vitti interiors made the bold move of removing the existing wall and coat closet to make room for an island which houses an electric cooktop and range, microwave drawer and extra storage drawers. To enhance storage, we enlarged the pantry and custom fitted it with multiple adjustable shelves along with roll out drawers and put toe kick drawers in all available lower cabinet locations. To create more flow and function in the space, we swapped out the small drop-in sink for a large undermount sink and relocated the dishwasher to make way for a pull-out trash cabinet. We paid attention to the details in choosing flat black pulls to adorn the hickory, olive green stained custom cabinets, using Cambria countertops which were pulled to the backsplash and waterfall ends of the island and sink wall, and placed pendant lights above the island. As a point of interest, we used a fixed cabinet door panel on the ends of the upper cabinets that open to the living room. Additional fixed panels were used at the end of the pantry where we created a 6” spice cabinet and a docking station that has a magnetic push latch and no pulls to create the illusion of fixed panels. Finally, the ambitious open layout was pulled together with recessed cans and new flooring throughout the entire house.
CONTEMPORARY CRAFTSMEN

North Park, CA
The Vitti Interiors philosophy is that we embrace your personal style to create a well-designed space for your wants and needs with a realistic approach that always keeps function and decor in the forefront of our interior design plans. This client desired a more functional kitchen space, better workflow, and more storage. We relocated the existing refrigerator to the opposite wall and centered the oven allowing more storage on both sides. The existing breakfast nook was not visually congruent with the kitchen. To make the two rooms come together, we added a built-in peninsula and added a wet bar with upper and lower storage. This kitchen special features include a farmhouse sink, pot, and pan drawers, spice pullout. The breakfast nook showcases a peninsula waterfall, additional prep sink, trash pullout, glass cabinets and open shelving. To make use of the extra material from the kitchen and laundry room countertop slabs, we decided to redo the countertops in the bathrooms. We also updated the sconces and gave the built in cabinets a new coat of white paint and painted the bathroom blue for a fresher look.
PRIMARY SUITE REDESIGN
Alpine, CA
This client’s space was very dark and dated from 15 years ago and needed to be refreshed and current. The existing to remain wood in the built-in cabinetry had to be taken into consideration when picking out new finishes. Keeping this in mind, it was decided to use lighter colors for the carpet and paint to make this space look lighter, airier and like less of a cave. Mixes of golden and white textured fabrics were used to reupholster furniture and can be seen in the close-up shots of the furniture, custom window treatments and custom bed set. The same thoughts were applied to the bathroom vanity along with the floor and wall tile in the bathroom. We replaced the undermount sink with a golden glass vessel sink, added a wall mount gold faucet and used a creamy white countertop with gold running through it matched with tile herringbone style backsplash. New gold accent accessories including lamps, candlestick holders, glass pieces, flower arrangements, and towel holder.
LIVING ROOM REFRESH
Alpine, CA
This client needed a refreshment for their living room. Aesthetics were the focus in this room, and we achieved transformation by selecting new paint, area rug and custom selected high-performance fabrics for reupholstery and accent pillows. The lighter paint selection created a lighter and more inviting atmosphere. The existing furniture and throw pillows clashed and we created a more cohesive look with smooth textured fabric for the furniture mixed with a splash of pattern for the pillows. The new organic styled wool area rug pulled the room together for the final touch. Vitti Interiors is a full-service design firm, and this project was no different with a need for a professional painter and a reupholstery company. We make your project easily come to life by doing the project management and working with sub-contractors. We meet the different trades on-site to explain and answer any project questions, help review proposed work estimates, place orders, handle deliveries and schedule for work to be done.
STEAMPUNK CHIC
Serra Mesa, CA
The client wanted home decor reminiscent of a steampunk concept. This concept was brought to life by the use of the color scheme of different shades of white and gray. Oil rubbed bronze accents were used throughout the interior spaces and steampunk style light fixtures and mirror in the kitchen and bathroom gave this update its final decorative touches.
CUSTOM WINDOW TREATMENTS
Mission Valley, CA
This client wanted to spruce up his living room and bedrooms with custom designed window treatments. The color choice of soft blue draperies allowed in more light and brightened the interior spaces. The custom designed strapping that holds the rings and the draperies made for a unique design. To not allow too much light in the bedrooms, a functional blackout liner was used.
The storage pantry was relocated to the right corner to open up the kitchen entry. The oven was moved to the island to create more counterspace.

SIMPLY TRADITIONAL
De Alcala Mission Valley, CA
A need to brighten the space was implemented, utilizing lighter tones of the color scheme of white and yellow, matched with neutral gray and brown accents, White Carrara countertops, pale yellow subway tile with a soft gray traditional shaker cabinet and a contrasting brown floor brought the design together.
The kitchen area was transformed into a more functional space with the addition of a large kitchen island.
